Initiative hosts conference urging industry leaders to embrace quality leadership and consumer empowerment

Initiative releases new white paper that examines policy barriers and enablers to smart grid development

On October 19, during the annual GridWeek conference in Washington, D.C., the Galvin Electricity Initiative announced the release of a new white paper, "Smart Grid Issues in State Law and Regulation," co-developed by executive director of the Harvard Electricity Policy Group Ashley Brown, Esq. and Raya Salter, Esq., and sponsored by the Initiative.

Initiative launches Facebook page and releases "An Electric Revolution"

The Galvin Electricity Initiative has launched a Facebook page to connect individuals with others in their community interested in grid modernization, learn more about real-time pricing, and share tips with one another on smart electricity utilization. The Initiative has also released "An Electric Revolution," a new booklet to help educate consumers, electricity providers and other stakeholders about the need to reinvent the electric power system in the United States.

Initiative partners with Best Buy to host conference on consumer empowerment

The Galvin Electricity Initiative has partnered with Best Buy to host the “Empowering Consumers through the Smart Grid” conference on September 29, 2010, from 8:00 a.m–12:00 p.m. In collaboration with the Minnesota Office of Energy Security and the Minnesota Smart Grid Coalition, the event will be held at Best Buy Headquarters in Richfield, Minnesota.
