AlterNet runs microgrid op-ed by Kurt Yeager

Kurt Yeager notes in his June 25 op ed on AlterNet that as Congress pushes through the American Clean Energy and Security Act legislation in order to quickly reduce electricity's carbon footprint and fix our unreliable, antiquated electricity grid, this haste may waste this opportune moment to drastically improve America's electricity distribution infrastructure in the long term. The Initiative suggests that instead of investing in a national grid, policymakers should slow down and take the extra time to look at local power distribution systems, such as smart microgrids, that will produce maximum benefits for consumers and build a stronger, greener economy.
